I’m Anne Rossen, a licensed mental-health practitioner in the state of Illinois (#180-006138). My business name is Anne Rossen Integrative Psychotherapy and More, LLC. Though I welcome the chance to talk with you about the possibility of working together, please realize that reading or interacting with my website does not constitute a therapist-client relationship between us, which can only be established through mutual, explicit agreement. The privacy policies that would govern therapy work can be found in my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. The remainder of this page focuses on my privacy policies regarding your interaction with this website.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
I collect as little data about visitors to my website as possible while still trying to ensure that my website is useful to you and a means by which you can find and contact me. The information I collect, why I collect it, and the contexts in which it is collected are summarized below.
Comments and Media
Specifically to protect your privacy, I’ve intentionally deactivated visitors’ ability to leave comments on and upload media to my website. Thus, no information is collected through these means.
Contact forms
The secure contact form on my website, which allows you to send an encrypted message to me, is linked to my Hushmail account. I use the information you provide when you contact me through that form only to respond to your inquiry. I delete your message from my Hushmail account as soon as that purpose has been served. However, consistent with strict interpretations of HIPAA and HITECH rules and regulations, I retain (securely) an archived copy of our communication.
As a “business associate” of mine, Hushmail has agreed to comply with the same HIPAA and HITECH requirements that I must comply with. Hushmail collects your IP address, the date/time stamp, your browser information, your email address and mine, the subject line “Hush Secure Form,” and any other information Hushmail deems necessary to record in order to maintain their system and prevent abuse. Please know that I have permanently opted out of Hushmail’s policy of temporarily sharing non-personally identifiable information with third-party services to support their advertising, sales, and marketing efforts.
Cookies
This is a Managed WordPress website. WordPress uses no cookies on this site because I’ve disabled the only functions it would use them for (comments, visitor account log-ins, guest editing and publishing of articles).
None of the plug-ins on my website use cookies for visitors to it.
Embedded content from other websites
Pages and blog entries on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) from other websites. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you’d visited those websites directly. In other words, once you’ve gone to another website, that website’s privacy policies apply, and data may be collected about you there. These other websites may use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with it if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
I currently am not using an analytics package. If and when I do, I’ll let you know what it is and how you can opt out of analytics tracking. I’ll also provide a link to the analytics provider’s privacy policy.
Who I share your data with
There are no third parties with whom I share site data, other than Hushmail (for the purpose of allowing you to securely contact me). I explain this above under the heading “Contact Forms.” WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone.
